Mohamed Yasin Mohamud - Non-executive Member

Currently serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, his extensive knowledge and expertise make him a valuable asset in the industry. Previously, Mohamed held the position of CEO at Trust African Bank, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and ensured the bank’s compliance with regulatory standards. Suad Mohamed Abdulle - Non-executive Member

Suad is a highly experienced professional in the field of Special Education Needs & Disability (SEND), with a strong background in banking and finance. As the Founder and Director of the Somali Institute of Special Educational Needs and Disability (SISEND), she has successfully applied her financial expertise to the management and operations of the institute. Prior to this, Suad served as a Senior Education Technical Advisor to the Somali Minister of Education and Culture, and Higher Education (MOECHE), where she leveraged her banking and finance knowledge to provide strategic guidance and support in the education sector. With a postgraduate degree in Special Education Needs & Inclusive Perspectives from the University of Roehampton in the United Kingdom, Suad combines her financial acumen with a deep understanding of inclusive education practices. Her unique blend of skills and experience allows her to effectively navigate the intersection of finance and special education, making her a valuable asset in the field.

Jesse Clain - Non-executive Member

Jesse Clain is a highly accomplished professional in venture capital and investment management. As the General Partner at The Takeoff Fund, he founded the first and only VC firm operating in Somaliland/Somalia. Jesse’s notable achievements include securing a $110K investment, marking the first international equity investment in a Somaliland company. With a proven track record in successful fundraising and supporting underrepresented entrepreneurs, Jesse is dedicated to fostering community growth. Abdinafi dahir Yusuf - Chief Executive Officer

Abdinafa, the CEO of Maal Microfinance, brings a strong background in banking and finance to his role. He pursued an MBA with a focus on finance and banking at Kampala International University in Kampala, Uganda. Between 2014 and 2015, Abdinafa served as an investment manager at a leading bank in Somalia, accumulating over 12 years of investment experience in the banking sector. Throughout his career, he has worked for and managed various organizations, showcasing his expertise in financing and investment. Yusuf Mohamed Ali

Yusuf is a highly experienced finance professional currently serving as a lecturer at Mogadishu University and also holds the position of Managing Director at Agaweyne trade and transport. With a diverse background in operations, consultancy, research, and training institutions, Yusuf has gained valuable expertise in various aspects of finance. He completed his PhD in Business Administration from Asian University, specializing in finance. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Somali National University. Yusuf’s commitment, proactive nature, and strong work ethic have contributed to his success as both a lecturer and a professional in the finance industry. With years of experience under his belt, he brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for finance to his roles, making him a valuable asset in the field.

Hassan O. Mahadallah

Hassan is a highly esteemed finance and banking professional, currently serving as the Rector of Somali National University. With extensive experience in the field, he has established himself as a respected professor and thought leader. Hassan holds a PhD, which he earned from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1997. Additionally, he obtained a Master of Education degree from Baylor University in 1985. Prior to his current role, Hassan served as the Commissioner of the Independent Constitution Commission, where he dedicated over five years to shaping constitutional policies. Alongside his current position, he works as an independent consultant and professor in the Department of Political Science at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Adam Shidane Guled

With a PhD in Education and an emphasis on administration, Adam is a highly trained professional in the management and banking fields. He has more than 10 years of experience and is renowned for his commitment, diligence, and capacity for producing outcomes. Adam is an excellent team player and independent worker who has no trouble learning new techniques and sticking to deadlines. Daud Ali Aser

Daud, a statistics PhD candidate at Dokuz Eylul University in Turkey, is a skilled professional in the field of finance and banking. With a first-class master’s degree in applied statistics from Kampala International University in Uganda, he possesses a strong foundation in mathematics and statistics. Daud has six years of teaching experience, including instructing statistics courses at SIMAD University’s postgraduate school. Gerald Wambugu Mbuthia - ICT Manager

With a remarkable tenure of over 13 years in the information technology sector, Gerald has amassed a wealth of expertise. Liban Abdi Isse - AML/CFT Risk Management
